The Art & Works of Ramon Yusi
A semi-professional football player and former Golden Gloves prizefighter, the late Ramon Yusi, 1912-1997, of Port Chester, NY and Greenwich, CT was forced to drop out of high school during the Great Depression to find work. Against all odds, Yusi’s heroic struggle, personal force and sincerity would not deny his dream to put his ingenuity and creative talents to work in ART.
Later in life, through many long nights, Yusi produced over 500 extraordinary portraits in oil, all painted from “life”. Oil portrait realism in the classic tradition by Ramon Yusi has deep rich colors and gives a warm golden glow to the subjects.
Yusi’s talent developed at night while attending classes at Fordham University and the Reilly League of Artists in White Plains, NY. He mastered his portrait style at the Cesar Borgia School of Art.
